Asus G75VW

mind when you think of big desktop replacement laptops that are optimized for gaming. The Asus G75VW, however, is the latest in a long line of gaming laptops produced by the company under the “Republic of Gamers” brand. Considering that gaming laptops often go for well over $2000, this big machine is relatively budget-priced, and it isn’t awful–but it isn’t great, either. Although it suffers in general performance, audio quality, and battery life, it has a nice screen, and the price may be right. Our review model, priced at $1500 (as of May 23, 2012), sports an Intel Core i7-3610QM processor, 12GB of RAM, 1.5TB of hard-drive space, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M graphics chip. It also has built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a Blu-ray/DVD combo drive. The G75VW Driver runs the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium.

Performance

In our WorldBench 7 benchmark tests, the G75VW Driver Download posted a paltry score of 97. This means that the G75VW is 3 percent slower than our baseline system, which is not an impressive achievement for a desktop replacement laptop. After all, our baseline system is a desktop PC with an Intel Core i5-2500K processor, 8GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti graphics card. A WorldBench 7 score of 97 is far from outstanding for an all-purpose laptop, let alone a desktop replacement specifically designed for gamers.

The G75VW’s performance in our graphics and gaming tests was a little better than its WorldBench 7 showing, and much closer to what we expect from the desktop replacement category. Laptop Driver Download . In our Crysis 2 graphics tests, the G75VW managed a frame rate of 30.8 frames per second (high quality settings, 1980 by 1080 resolution), which isn’t terrible. For context, on the same graphics test the Origin EON17-S produced a frame rate of 43.1 fps, while the MSI GT70 managed a frame rate of 33.8 fps.

Nvidia GeForece Driver high-end GTX 580 and 570 cards both obtained Suggested prizes, with the latter currently seated happily on top of the A Record. The next card down the variety, the GeForce GTX 560 Ti, is designed to expand that achievements into the mid-range.

It does not wander far from its mature bros. The GF114 primary is a transforming of the GF110, and its changes replicate those created to last season’s GTX 460. Key among these is the reorganisation of the core’s flow processors: instead of the GTX 580’s four and the GTX 570’s three Design Handling Groups (GPCs) with 32 flow processor chips each, the GTX 560 Ti uses two 48-strong GPCs.

Elsewhere, there is 1.9 billion dollars of Nvidia’s new variable-speed transistors – down from the 3 billion dollars in the GTX 580 – and a primary which is an amazing 822MHz. The shader time is a very great 1,640MHz, and the 1GB of GDDR5 storage operates at 4,000MHz.

The mixture of greater time connections, reorganised flow processor chips and effective transistors encouraged the GTX 560 Ti Driver to some excellent standard ratings. It averaged 40fps in our 1,920 x 1,080 Very Top excellent Crysis analyze. That is 8fps behind the GTX 570, and only 3fps behind the Radeon HD 6950, which expenses around £30 exc VAT more.

The GTX 560 Ti also handled 32fps when we included 8x anti-aliasing, before Nvidia VGA Driver going on to provide stonking ratings in our Just Cause 2 assessments. A typical of 65fps in the 1,920 x 1,080 Very High analyze with 8x anti-aliasing is almost 20fps quicker than the Radeon HD 6950.

There’s a lot of overclocking headroom. We used MSI’s no cost Afterburner application to modify the card, easily enhancing its platform time from 820MHz to 960MHz, and the storage time from 4,000MHz to 4,320MHz. The outcomes were palpable: 45fps in our 1,920 x 1,080 Very Top excellent Crysis standard, more than 10% quicker than at inventory connections. It’s an motivating indication, and we would not be amazed to see panel associates launching designs with even greater time connections.

The Driver GTX 560 Ti remained awesome and silent during our assessments, with an nonproductive heat variety of 43°C that increased to 78°C during our pressure assessments. It’s just a pity it is not quite as effective when it comes to energy draw: a optimum of 331W for our whole analyze rig is reduced than the GTX 580, but both the Radeon HD 6950 and HD 6970 needed less energy.

Where this card really ratings, however, is in the expenses. At £166 exc VAT, it’s far less costly than its rivals: AMD’s Radeon HD 6950 and HD 6970 price around £195 and £230 respectively, and a GTX 570 will set you returning at least £230. The £170 HD 6870 functions in the same way but features nothing like the same overclocking headroom.

The GTX 560 Ti, then, is a triumph: almost as quick as more costly competitors, and with opportunity for even better performance with a bit of remodelling. Under the cover it stocks a lot with the GTX 460 – and it looks likely to do it again its predecessor’s achievements.

Dell Vostro 1540

Dell Vostro 1540 The present pattern for pills might have overshadowed much of the technological innovation that’s out there but, if anyone knows the value of a conventional notebook computer, it’s business users: after all, a real key pad and full-fat os are both important when you’re trying to perform.

There’s a lot to be said for less expensive notebooks, too, with organizations like Dell Driver Download promoting devices like its new Vostro 1540 for just £319 ex VAT – less than you’ll pay for most big-brand pills. That money obviously gets you a primary device, but Dell has managed the basic principles fairly well. The touch pad is large and sensitive and the notebook computer key pad, while experiencing a a little bit lively area, is still quick and relaxed. There aren’t any structure problems, either.

Explore the Dell ‘s 3.3cm-thick framework, though, and the funds starts to tell. While the weight of just 2.4kg is relatively mild for a 15in notebook computer – it’s a colour under our present preferred, the HP ProBook 4530s, which guidelines the devices at 2.5kg – it seems empty rather than powerful. The wrist-rest squeezes with only a mild push, the platform seems inadequate, and the display is especially inadequate – a press of the back saw it extend and the display change.

The 15.6in display has a local quality of 1,366 x 768 p, and it’s shiny and has a flat complete that will please workplace customers. The funds price indicates it’s not perfect for precise visual perform, though: colors are a little cleaned out, and watching perspectives are not particularly good. Dell Inspiron Driver

It’s hardly an unpleasant device although, when as opposed to fashionable HP, it hardly appears out: dark, shiny materials are the order of the day, with only a boundary of chrome-effect content to offer some welcome style. The lid has a distinctive feel with brought up collections of horizontally type operating similar to each other. The choice of slots and electrical sockets spread around it is in the same way primary, with two USB 2 electrical sockets on the right-hand side, an SD/MMC/MS card audience on the top side and just one USB 2 slot, VGA and HDMI results, a Gigabit Ethernet feedback and two sound slots on the left-hand advantage.Dell Driver
